The Beckhoff EK1541 is a sophisticated coupler designed to seamlessly integrate EtherCAT Terminals (ELxxxx) with 100BASE-FX EtherCAT POF networks. This device is engineered to support up to 65,534 EtherCAT Terminals within a single system, making it an ideal choice for expansive industrial automation applications. The EK1541 utilises polymeric optical fibre as its transmission medium, allowing for a maximum cable length of 50 metres between bus couplers. Operating at a transceiver wavelength of 650 nm, it adheres to Laser Class 1 standards, ensuring safe and efficient data transmission.
The coupler is equipped with two versatile links for POF duplex connectors, facilitating straightforward connectivity. It operates on a 24 VDC power supply, with an input current of 130 mA plus the total E-bus current divided by four. The EK1541 is designed to withstand a wide range of operating conditions, with a permissible ambient temperature range of -25°C to +60°C and a relative humidity tolerance of up to 95% without condensation.
With dimensions of approximately 49 mm x 100 mm x 70 mm and a weight of around 190 grams, the EK1541 is compact yet robust, conforming to IP20 protection standards. It is suitable for mounting on a 35 mm rail in accordance with EN 60715 standards. The device also meets EMC immunity and emission standards as per EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4, ensuring reliable performance in various industrial environments. The Beckhoff EK1541 is CE and cULus approved, reflecting its compliance with international safety and quality standards.
